Part 2 of Fishing (with) Questions... author Bronwyn Preece takes a deeper dive into the history of Garibaldi Lake's fish (and brief hostel!) story.... Crafts in the Park begins this Wednesday July 8 -- and runs through August 19...themed around Wildlife in Whistler, each week will feature the reading of a different picturebook and craft activity related to a different local animal! 'Fishing (with) Questions' is the feature Museum Musings article this week. Author Bronwyn Preece's interest is hooked when she spots a school of Rainbow Trout in Garibaldi Lake... Soccer has long been a beloved summer sport in Whistler! This photograph was taken 45 years ago, with Rainbow Mountain looming large, and featured in a Whistler Question issue in 1981. A 1922 photograph of Virginia Tapley (granddaughter of Sewall Tapley, Myrtle Philip's father) as a small child holding up two dead ducks. A group of people on the Pacific Great Eastern [PGE] steam train to Alta Lake in the 1920s. They are standing in the open top carriage at the front of the train. Summer is here! 45 years ago this was the cover of the local Whistler Answer publication from the Summer of '81. The land now known as Whistler lies in the unceded territory of the Lílwat Nation and Skwxú7mesh Nation. View of The Table and Black Tusk from Warren Glacier [1960s].
