New Museum Facility

Your generosity can help us preserve and showcase Whistler’s rich history and culture for future generations. The Whistler Museum and Archives (WMAS) has been working diligently with architects and the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) since 2019 to develop a building plan for its current site.

The proposed facility will provide expanded museum exhibits that can better utilize WMAS’s extensive collection of artefacts and archival material while ensuring safe storage for these collections. However, the success of this initiative is highly dependent on the support of donors like you. Your contributions can help us realize this vision and create a state-of-the-art facility that will serve as a hub for cultural and historical education in Whistler.

By donating to WMAS, you are not only helping preserve our community’s history but also contributing to the educational and cultural enrichment of Whistler’s future generations. Your donations help ensure that the stories and contributions of our community are not lost to time.

We thank you for your support, and we look forward to partnering with you on this exciting journey. Together, we can create a lasting legacy for our community.

SUPPORTERS SPOTLIGHT: whistler children’s chorus

We are excited to share with you that the Whistler Children’s Chorus (WCC) put on an amazing performance of “Christmas at Rainbow” in December 2022. This show has a special connection to Whistler’s history, as it tells the story of how Rainbow Lodge was built by Myrtle and Alex Philip, beginning with Alex’s chance meeting of John Millar in Vancouver in 1911.

To make this performance possible, the Whistler Museum provided WCC with archival photos that were used as backdrops, and helped update the script.

We are also thrilled to announce that the proceeds from the performances, totalling $1890, were donated to the Whistler Museums building fund. WMAS Thanks you for your support.
